Collaborate Wellness clipped the Rockstars 2-1 in North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association Division 2 play Thursday

Collaborate Wellness clipped the Rockstars 2-1 in North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association Division 2 play Thursday night at MacDonald Park.

Krista Mascagno and Amy Kermociev handled the scoring as the Wellness gang earned their first win of the season. Great efforts were turned in by Waverly Vanderveen and Alana McColm in net.

Lady of the Match for the Wellness crew went to Olivia Anderson, who supported the four newbies and maintained sportsmanship and positive vibes all night.

Kris Ponto was coaching on the sidelines, saving her ankles and face for her wedding next Saturday.

Do-Itt Drywall plastered the OTC Sistas 6-0 in other Division 2 play.

Cass Otto delivered some mad dangles and pirouettes, while Diane Neudorf, Becky Birbilis and Crystal Flasch worked tireless on the back line for the Sistas.

Alicia Wielemaker and Katherine Fitchett moved the ball up and down the field from midfield, sharing Player of the Game titles forthe Sistas.

In Okanagan 55+ play Thursday night, Vernon Silver Stars grounded the nine-man North Country Kickers of Kelowna 4-1 at MacDonald Park.

Mark Wasylyk scored three times after Dick Markin opened the scoring for the 4-2-1 Stars. Ted Lurkins was denied the shut out when Steve Frost blasted an unstoppable 30-yarder. The Kickers dipped to 4-3.

Kelowna #1 iced Vernon Kal Tire 5-1 at Mission Sportsfield #10.

 

Roger Irving scored on a header in the second half on a feed from Tony Cheshire for the   Tiremen (3-3-1). Kelowna is 5-2.
