The Summerland Steam lost Game 4 7-4 to the Kelowna Chiefs Tuesday in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.
The Chiefs took a commanding 3-0 lead after the first period and made it 4-0 five minutes into the second period. The Steam hit the scoresheet at 9:39 on a goal by Michael MacLean on the power play. The Steam got as close as 6-4 on goals by Calvin Rout with two and Konsta Jaske. Matthew Huber made 19 saves on 24 shots through 40 minutes. He was relieved by Jared Breitkreuz, who stopped six of seven shots in 18:32 of action.
Brandon Gaucher made 31 saves for the Chiefs.
