J. L. Crowe Jr. Hawks host basketball tournament

The J. L. Crowe Jr. Boys hit the hardwood on Friday and Saturday, hosting seven teams from across the West Kootenay.

After winning their opening match to Nakusp, the Junior Hawks fell to Stanley Humphries 60-42 in the semifinal on Saturday. Grand Forks went on to beat Stanley Humphries in Saturday's final to win the J.L. Crowe Jr. Boys Basketball Tournament.

J. L. Crowe Jr. Boys kicked off the basketball season on the weekend by hosting its annual tournament, that saw seven teams including Nakusp, Salmo, Grand Forks, Stanley Humphries, L.V. Rodgers, and Mt. Sentinel joining Crowe for the two-day event.

Trail beat Nakusp in its opening match but fell to Stanley Humphries 60-42 in the semifinal. Grand Forks cruised through the tournament undefeated beating the Castlegar team in the final.

The action continues on Friday and Saturday when the J. L. Crowe Senior Boys Hawks hosts its tournament at the school gymnasium.
