As a concerned citizen of Campbell River and a former employee of the Campbell River Hospital I just want to say that I was so relieved to be sitting at the Delegation meeting on Feb. 29.
Dr. Kindy and Dr. Pincott did an amazing job articulating the problems surrounding healthcare in Campbell River and the province of British Columbia. The HPOA Act (Bill 36) will create added stress on an already failing healthcare system.
I think “slamming” the HPOA Act is a rather strong statement as what I experienced was two very calm and intelligent people involved in the field of medicine, creating awareness around an increasing problem here in Campbell River and B.C. that clearly not many people know about.
I am hopeful with the feedback that was received from our council that this delegation is the first step to solving this issue from the ground up.
