In the letter Concerns take Flight, the author (J. Gibbs) takes great pains to articulate how his or her rights, as a longtime Okanagan Landing resident, have been violated by the excessive noise produced by planes and helicopters using the Vernon airport.
As a matter of context, I am adding that my family and I have resided close to this facility for 20 years.
We realized that an airport may involve some noise when we purchased our property.
We also understood that certain infrastructure is necessary to support the growth of a city.
I wish to take this time to celebrate how great it is to live in a country where we have the time, freedom and ability to complain about such trivial things.
I choose to watch the graceful sky drivers float to earth and whoop with joy rather than be annoyed by the sound of their aircraft.
Everything is a matter of perception.
