In Loving Memory ~
Fred was born on March 28th, 1939 in Muelheim, Germany and went to join his wife Edith on September 16th, 2023 at the age of 84 years.
She passed away six years earlier, almost to the day.
Fred immigrated to Canada with his family in 1976 and made his home in Vernon in 1980. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Claudia Hajevsky; his son, Patrick Thormaehlen; three granddaughters, Carmen (Joe) Matczuk, Becca Hajevsky and Tasha Hajevsky; and one great-granddaughter, Bella Matczuk.
Fred was well known in Vernon as a city bus driver until reaching the age of 78. He made people smile and laugh every day with his endless supply of jokes and he kept his sense of humor right to the end of his life.
Cremation preceded the Celebration of Fred`s life which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 29th, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Harold Young officiating. A Reception will follow in the Bethel Tea Room.
