June 27, 1938 - January 15, 2022
We are saddened by the loss of Wilbert, who was born and lived his entire life in the Wetaskiwin area. As well as farming, he drove school bus for 36 years for the Rosebrier school. His bus students were like family to him, and he loved them dearly.
He was a good mechanic, and enjoyed welding and fixing his neighbour's machinery, sometimes even inventing parts of his own.
In 2016, he sold his farm but continued to live there still in the original house. He was "adopted" by the Tancock family, and enjoyed being shop supervisor, head lawnmower and "Grandpa".
Wilbert was predeceased by his parents Bill and Charlotte; wife, Liz; and sister, Catherine Anderson.
He is survived by his sister, Arlene (Vern) Friesen; nephews, Dennis and Curtis; and numerous cousins.
Wilbert liked old things and had acquired many antique cars which he enjoyed holidays to Alaska, Mexico and Hawaii with friends. He will be remembered as a kind and generous person and will be missed dearly.
