It is with great sadness the family of Victor Wittchen announces his passing on Sept. 23, 2022 at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital.
Vic was born in Jekaterinowka Romania Bessarabia to German parents Reinhold and Marie Wittchen. The family returned to Germany where Vic did his schooling and electrical training.
In 1954, Victor, sister Hulda and step-brother and sister came to Canada and were joined by the family later.
Vic found work at the pulp mill and worked there for 42 years.
Victor leaves to mourn his wife of 63 years, Eileen, and sons Allan (Christena), Douglas, and grandchildren Hannah and Joshua Wittchen, brother Eugen (Helga), sister Helga Poeppel, many nieces and nephews in Canada and in Germany sister-in-laws Norma Payton and Lil Peterson.
He was predeceased by Omma Emilie, father Reinhold, mother Marie, step-mother Eva, Sister Hulda and daughter-in-law Johnna Wittchen, brothers-in- law Ron Peterson and Arnold Poeppel.
To the nursing staff on 3rd floor, we are forever grateful for the excellent care you gave Vic.
