June 10, 1969 - August 4, 2022
It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vanessa Lynn Pearson, on August 4th, 2022. She was born on June 10th,1969 in Calgary, Alberta.
Vanessa was an incredible mother to her son, Ashton Dane; a devoted daughter to her parents, Hank and Linda; a loving sister to Ivy and her brother-in-law, Doug; as well as, a much-loved auntie to Hannah, Jackson and Amy. A large extended family, including her grandmother Vi, many aunts and uncles and dozens of cousins throughout the province of Ontario are mourning the loss of her. Vanessa brought so much joy to the lives of friends and colleagues.
After completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Victoria in 1997, Vanessa went on to touch countless lives during her long career as a registered nurse. She shared in the joy of bringing new lives into the world on the Perinatal Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
Her journey in life included many professional accomplishments and personal adventures, such as traveling the world. Vanessa used to claim she was a gypsy at heart and often felt compelled to go exploring. She loved animals and had such a unique and amazing way of interacting with them; one of her most cherished memories was riding elephants in Thailand.
Vanessa was an engaging storyteller and a beautiful poet; often gifting her rare, heartfelt poems to celebrate lifes' most pivotal moments. She was profoundly generous and kind. Her laughter was contagious. Vanessa had the ability to make the mundane seem magical and our lives are richer for every moment touched by her warmth and brilliance.
Time spent with Ness was a gift. For many, although she has left this world, the sense of wonder she made us feel will never be lost or forgotten. May you rest in grace and love; you will live in our hearts forever. We love you, Nessy.
A celebration of life is being planned for early November, at the Nanaimo Golf Club. For information please contact Ashton at Ashton.ulti@gmail.com.
