On October 28, 2022, Tosh passed away peacefully at Jackson House. He was born in Vancouver, lived in the New Denver and Tashme internment camps during WWII, and then moved to Spuzzum.
He attended Hope Secondary School and then studied to be a mechanic at Vancouver Technical School. After working in Burnaby for several years, he moved to Ashcroft in the 1960s. He worked as a mechanic in town and later at Highland Valley Copper until he retired.
Tosh was predeceased by his parents Takeo and Masami Gyoba, his sister Joyce O'Neill and his brothers Eugene and Edward Gyoba.
He is survived by his wife Toyoko, his daughters Kay, Amy and Miwa, his brother Jim Gyoba and his sisters Elsie Manley-Casimir and Charlotte Gyoba, as well as his grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
