In loving memory ~
"They live on... those we hold most dear never truly leave us... they live on in the kindness they show, the comfort they shared, and the love they brought into our lives. May beautiful memories give you strength in these difficult hours."
Surrounded by the love of family, Terry passed away peacefully on March 10th, at the age of 91, at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, BC.
Terry was a loving and caring man who valued family over everything. He was an avid runner and also enjoyed being on the sidelines of the soccer field watching his grandkids play. Terry had a contagious sense of humor and always had a joke to make you laugh.
Born in 1931, Terry grew up in Bristol, England. As a young child during the war, he was evacuated to Devon, Cornwall. He would often tell us stories about delivering meat by bicycle to the neighbourhood locals.
After serving in the army, he met his first wife, Margaret. They had two children together, Christopher and Alison, who were born in 1961 and 1964 respectively. Together they moved to Canada in 1966. After Margaret passed in 1978, he met Ann and they were married in 1979 - a union filled with love and support for each other which lasted for 43 years.
He spent his working years in a Financial Leasing role. A very detailed oriented man, always looking for the best interest of his clients.
Survived by his loving wife Ann and their dog Joey; children Christopher (Bobbi), Alison (Keith); grandchildren Lindsay (Andy), Sara (Annika), Ryan (Anna); great grandchildren Austin, Isaac, Hunter, Theo, and 2 babies to soon come; sister Heather Evans (Russell); and sister-in-law Jacquie (Bruce and family).
Predeceased by parents, Stanley and Lilian; his first wife, Margaret; and younger brother Hayden.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of B.C. or St. Paul's Anglican Church.
The family would like to thank Trillium Lodge for their kindness during his last few weeks of life. We would also like to thank the VIHA care givers and his St. Paul's Anglican Church family.
Celebration of life will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church on Saturday, April 15th @ 1:00pm.
