Susy was born in Hindeloopen, Netherlands and passed away peacefully in Campbell River at the Campbell River and District Hospital surrounded by family and close friends after a short battle with cancer.
Susy was predeceased by husband Allan McKenzie in 1996. Susy will be missed by her daughters Jackie (Roland Wells) and Tammy (Doug Bigmore), grandchildren Jane and Sam Wells, sisters, His and Akke and brother John (Dawn), sister-in-law Florence, brother-in-law Stanley, sister-in-law Brenda (Red Cochrane) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Susy enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking, 5-pin bowling, beach-combing and games night with the "girls."
A special thank you to Dr. Miller and Dr. McEwen and to the staff on the 3rd floor of the hospital for the outstanding care they provided to mom.
As per Susy's request, a small gathering took place on what would have been her 81st birthday.
