Susan 'Sue' Abbott

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan "Sue" Abbott, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully passed away on October 16, 2024, at the age of 79. She was a resident of Vernon, BC, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sue was born on December 12, 1944, in Melbourne, Australia, to Frannie and Vance Dore, both of whom predeceased her.

She is survived by her loving son, Ian Abbott, her cherished granddaughters Camille and Daphne, and her loving daughter Jane Abbott (Devin Redlich). Sue is also survived by her brother, Michael Dore (Sue), and her nephews Tim and Jeremy, who were all a great source of joy and pride in her life.

Sue will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity of spirit, and her unyielding resilience. As a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her, offering love, guidance, and unwavering support. Her legacy will live on in the strength and warmth she shared with her family and friends.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the North Okanagan Hospice Society for their exceptional care and support during her final days. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Coldstream Community Hall, 9909 Kalamalka Rd, Coldstream, BC. Friends, family, and all who knew Sue are welcome to join in remembering and celebrating her remarkable life.
