In Loving Memory ~

Susan was born March 16, 1952, in Oakland, CA to parents Harold & Monica Simcox, a sister to brother Stephen.

Sue's early years included a stint living with her maternal grandparents Max & Leila Dunievitz, in order to attend Kindergarten in Auburn, CA as the family's new location did not yet offer it. The family's move north to Seattle, WA is where she received the majority of her early schooling.

Nine years later the family again moved north, emigrating to Canada in 1966, settling in Grand Forks, BC also known as the beautiful Sunshine Valley.

Sue's High School years were filled with friends, grass hockey and cheerleading. At the end of Grade 11 Sue was crowned Miss Grand Forks, and in Grade 12, was appointed the Social Minister with responsibility for GFSS social events that year.

After grad, Sue worked the summer at the Boundary Museum before moving to Vancouver, finding work until entering Nursing School at Vancouver General Hospital. Becoming a Registered Nurse had been her lifelong ambition and that career sustained her throughout her working life. In later years she upgraded her training to include Hospice work.

In 1976 Susan married Richard Mlynarczyk and together they had two children; Luke & Tanya. Susans volunteer work through those years, led to her appointment as a School Board Trustee in her churches school system, which included assisting with the sex education provided to young learners.

After many years in Vancouver the family moved to Prince George, a difficult move for Sue as her love for Vancouver was strong.

Six years later Susan returned to her city of choice to support Tanya's university education while renewing her own R.N. certification.

Serving others describes the essence of who Susan was. She was always the mom, who brought tasty treats to her children's classrooms, to her church, provided lodgings for travelling friends and family, survival offerings to those in need and a general attention to fulfilling the needs of those around her.

Susan was always a tremendous support to those whose lives she touched and has well earned her peace in heaven. Susan took her final breath at home surrounded by her loving family.

Susan is; pre-deceased by her parents, brother Stephen, survived by her former husband, son Luke (Nikki), daughter Tanya, sister Margaret (John), brother Douglas, and many nieces and nephews. Special mention to cousins found in North Carolina, South Carolina, Colorado & Vancouver in addition to her 'extra sisters' Kim & Stacy Davis.

She will be forever missed.
