In Loving Memory (1941-2022) ~
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Steve Bezak on Friday December 9th, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.
Steve was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Frances, parents Paul and Maria, and brother Eugene.
Steve's adventurous life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children Spencer (Jennifer), Glen (Kerri), Stacey (Douglas), and Stafford (Kim); sisters Nina, Violet, and Helen; and partner Doreen.
In later years, Steve was delighted to welcome seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Steve loved every moment he spent with them and took pride in their many endeavours.
Steve was born in Poland but lived most of his life in Fernie and Baynes Lake. In his teenage years, Steve was an outstanding hockey player. Although Steve worked as a welder and mechanic to support his family, he also possessed many different skills which were put to good use as he was passionate to volunteer on several projects around the Baynes Lake area.
Steve loved the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, Steve did it all, and always with family by his side. There wasn't a mountain in the Elk Valley he didn't stand on top of, there wasn't a river he didn't fish.
Steve loved his family above all. He cherished his many friends in Fernie and Baynes Lake, and never missed a chance to lend a helping hand.
There will be no service, by request. A Celebration of Steve's Life is planned for the weekend of June 3rd, 2023. Steve always wanted his family and friends to come together at the lake, and who are we to challenge his great wisdom.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the Fernie CIBC Branch in Memory of Steve Bezak. Alternatively, donations can be e-transferred to sbezak@outlook.com. All donations will be used to place a bench at the Baynes Lake Community Center in memory of Steve.
