Sharon Lynn Morton

May 2, 1945 – December 7, 2022
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the death of Sharon Lynn Morton who passed away in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 77 years, with her loving daughter Leslie by her side.
Sharon will be forever remembered by her son, Ian (Maria) Morton; her daughter, Leslie (Bruce) Connors; 5 grandchildren, Andrea (Morgan) Murland, Ashley (Lindsay) Frye, Alex Harris, Sara (Kyle) Learn and Ryan Morton; together with her beautiful great-grandchildren, Aaron, Brooklyn, Addison, Brody, Jaydyn, Maribella, Serenity, Micah and Alex. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erven and Ida Heyd; her husband, Roy Morton; and her daughter, Tracey Harris.
Sharon began her career in the telecommunications world at the young age of 17. This would be the meeting place for her and Roy Morton of whom she would capture the heart of and together create their legacy. Sharon built a career with TELUS for over 30 years, building multiple friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Sharon had a love of photography and was self-taught using the beautiful landscapes of her many travels to her advantage to learn from and hone her craft. Sharon and Roy had an insatiable hunger for travelling the world; their adventures taking them to Europe, Mexico, Australia and everywhere in between. During Sharon’s travels she captured beautiful photos of the world and cultures she was exploring; many of these photos have been printed, framed and shared with family and friends as well as displayed within her own home. After the passing of her beloved husband Roy, Sharon’s travel companion became her long-time friend, Janet Green. Together they were often off causing trouble creating memories and laughter through their many adventures.
Sharon was a strong, witty, funny, astute woman with a knack for telling enchanting stories that captivated her audience. She was always the life of the party, and you could often find Sharon in the centre of social gatherings surrounded by her friends and family where talking and laughing were in abundance. Sharon will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved her. May there truly be comfort in knowing that someone so special will never be forgotten.
In respecting Sharon’s wishes, she was cremated and a celebration of her life is being planned for Spring 2023.
Cremation arrangements were made with BETHEL FUNERAL CHAPEL LTD., 5605-27th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 8Z5 250-542-1187
