Sharon Logan (Bailey) is a legend who lived an unconventional, unbelievable life until her passing on Aug, 22. From humble beginnings in 1938, she was the first daughter of Pearl (McNair) and Bridge Bailey in Chilliwack, B.C. She built her legacy in Victoria as a philanthropist, especially to the Salvation Army, Canadian Diabetes Association, & JDRF.
Starting in an era where it was unusual for a single woman to be granted a mortgage, she built Sharon Logan Property Management in Victoria. She was an empathic housing provider, working to provide affordable housing for people & their animals.
Throughout her 84 years, Sharon's passions included her pets, convertible cars, antiques, travel, & her blood & found families. Sharon married Donald Logan in 1996. He passed away in April 2021, days after their 25th anniversary.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy (Jim Polutnik); grandchildren Kyla (Matt Belvedere), Bridgeman, great-grandchildren Charlie & Alice; her stepchildren Gordie & Jodi; stepgrandchildren Michael, Emma, Kiera, Richelle & Darcy; her siblings Dalyn Sexsmith, Diane (Al Warner) & Gregg Bailey; ex-husband & friend, Roger Garden.
That is not to mention the generations of cousins, nieces & nephews & friends. As her former partner, the late Keith Ince, used to sing, "All her exes come for breakfast". He especially meant the late Vern Umphrey. The stories of Sharon add up to more than a single life. She was our matriarch and we'll honour her.
