In loving memory ~
Sam was born in Rainy River, Ontario to parents Samuel and Anna Watts, moving to B.C. at the age of 2. The family settled in Penticton, where he completed his school years and his electrical apprenticeship with AC Motor Electric.
He married Karen in 1963, and they moved to Grand Forks in 1967 to raise their two daughters.
Sam worked at Boundary Electric for 18 years, and at Pope & Talbot for 11 years.
Sam and Karen enjoyed most of their retirement years at Jewel Lake, before returning to Grand Forks.
He loved to snowmobile, fish and spend time in his wood-working shop crafting beautiful furniture, bowls and intarsia for family.
Family was the most important thing to Sam, always putting them first above all else.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Karen; daughter Jill (Ron) Fletcher; daughter Sandra (Dan) Barron; and the "apple of his eye" granddaughter Michelle Moore (Eric); as well as by his "bonus" grandchildren Derrick Fletcher, Alena (Adam) Spears, Taylor Wollenberg-Barron (Rebecca); and great-grandchildren Shayde, Malia and Harrison.
He is also survived by his sister Sheila (Joe) Crawford, sister-in-law Bev, his niece and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by his life-long friend David (Janice) Mallory, as well as so many other friends whose lives he touched throughout his life.
He was predeceased by his brothers Norm and Harold, and his granddaughter Jami.
Sam passed away peacefully with Karen by his side after a long and courageous battle with heart failure.
Sam loved telling and hearing a good joke and kept his sense of humour until the very end, saying "Damn, and I just got my booster shot."
At his request, there will be no service.
