Sally Wise, (Kane), (Brereton), passed away peacefully at the age of 88. Sally was born in Vancouver, where she grew up, and went to school. She taught at Carleton Annex, before marrying Cecil Kane in 1956. They moved to Calgary for two years, prior to settling in Salmon Arm in 1964. Sally worked as secretary/receptionist in Cecil's accounting office, between 1975 and 1995. In 1989, Sally started the Shuswap Parkinson's Support Group, and stayed active for 16 years. She dabbled in arts, crafts, photography, and writing. Sally was a long-time member of the Group of Saturday, and an early member of the Shuswap Writers Group. Cecil passed away in 1998, followed by their eldest daughter Stacy (Don) Griffith, in 1999. Sally married Ernest Wise in 2001. Sally and Ernest moved to Victoria in 2011. Predeceased by her husband Ernest in 2014, she is survived by her brother Bill Brereton, daughter Kendall (Ed) O'Brien, son Kevin (Bobbi), and grandchildren Erin (Kevin) Hodgins, Ed (Sarah) O'Brien, Robyn (Josh) O'Brien, and great-grandchildren Violet, Rory, Archer, and Heath.
