In Loving Memory ~
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Rozena (Rose) Marion on January 20th, 2023, at the age of 91.
She was predeceased by her husband Victor Marion.
Rose was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia and at the age of 16 attended the Charles University Hospital as a student of Nursing. After completing her Nurses training, she worked for the International Refugee Organization (IRO), USA zone in Germany.
In 1951 Rose made her way to Canada, a refugee herself. On Christmas Eve 1956, in Bellingham, Washington, Rose married her sweetheart and together their favourite pastime was travelling and playing golf.
Eventually making their way to Prince Rupert, Rose became an employee of B.C. Hydro. Rose was an active member of the PR Golf Club and one of the founders of women's golf in Prince Rupert. Rose was also a great supporter of the Prince Rupert Wildlife Rehab shelter for many years.
Rose passed away peacefully at Acropolis Manor. We would like to thank the staff for their care and kindness.
Rose will be missed by her friends and the golfing community.
A celebration of her life will be held in the Spring.
