His reinforcing steel work started on the W.A.C. Bennett dam in 1966 and finished 41 years later when he retired from his partnership in Star Reinforcing Steel ltd. He loved his work.
Roy asked Jesus Christ into his heart and life in June of 1978, a decision that changed his life forever. His favorite scripture was Isaiah 40:31 ‘But they that wait upon the lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint’.
His favorite saying right to the end was “I know who’s on the throne and I know who holds my hand”. He is now worshipping around the throne of God with his best friend Lawrence Shewchuk who went before him.
