In loving memory ~
After a valiant effort for life, Rose passed away peacefully at the Poplar Ridge facility in Trail, BC.
She was predeceased by her husband Victor, son Harley, daughters Diane and Darlene, grandson Todd Matheson and Great Grandson Connor Long, her parents and all her siblings.
Surviving her are daughters Carol (Allan) in Palm Springs, Lorraine in Osoyoos, Sandra in Delta, Jackie in Castlegar, Debbie (Alan) in Castlegar, her sons Brian in Nelson, Randy (Janet) in Salmo, and Richard (Lise) in Williams Lake, 25 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Rose took up residence in Nelson, BC in the early 1950s where she worked at various jobs while raising her 11 children. After retirement she spent her time volunteering at different charities and organizations in Nelson before moving to Salmo in 2004 where she lived until she was recently moved to the Poplar Ridge Facility in Trail.
During her retirement years Rose was able to take advantage of travel opportunities to visit her kids and loved spending many winters in Palm Springs. Her family was her life and always enjoyed seeing any or all of them. Her smiles and positive outlook on life was an inspiration.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the Poplar Ridge Facility and the homecare workers in Salmo who gave extra care and attention to ensure Rose lived a full and enjoyable life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
