Rollie (William Roland) Larson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Mount Cartier Court, Revelstoke B.C. Rollie was born on June 21st, 1933, in Revelstoke, B.C. The first of three generations born and raised in Revelstoke.
Rollie's friends and family remember him for his infectious laugh, generosity, loving nature, and his passion for recreation (fishing, hunting, skiing, and loggers' sports). Rollie was a Jack-of-all-trades constantly fixing something.
Rollie honed his skills as a heavy-duty mechanic with D&A Logging in the 70's. He then spent 30 years driving and fixing logging trucks for his own company, Fish River Contracting, operated with his wife Sonia. Rollie retired in 2009 due to challenges with Parkinson's Disease.
Rollie leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Sonia; two sons: Derek (Anna) Larson, grandsons Matthew and Thomas, granddaughter Sophie; Bart (Tracey), granddaughter Zoe; his daughter Lisa (Alan) and grandson Sam. Rollie is survived by his brothers Ernie, Larry, Glen, and Don, his sisters Barbara, Joan, and Alma. Rollie was predeceased by his parents, Axel and Sigrind Larson, and brother Evan.
In lieu of flowers, Rollie's family is asking for donations to be made to: Parkinson Society B.C., 600 - 890 West Pender Street, Vancouver, B.C. V6C 1J9.
