In loving memory ~
Roger Wood of Lac La Hache, a talented stained-glass artist, beekeeper and gardener and avid reader, left us at the age of 81 years on May 4, 2023. A grandson of Cariboo pioneers, Tom and Charlotte Auld, Roger lived among friends and family in various places around the South Cariboo, including Lac La Hache, Forest Grove and 100 Mile House, for his entire life. Roger was employed by Ainsworth Lumber at the Exeter Division for decades, working chiefly as a sawyer. Throughout his life, Roger was never afraid to march to the beat of his own drum and was known for being generous and loyal to his friends.
Roger was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, his parents Julius and Helen and his youngest brother Tommy.
Roger is survived by his son Jordan (Amy), his grandsons Adler and Slater, his stepchildren by Elizabeth, and his brother and sister-in-law Norman and Diane and their family.
Roger spent his final days at Mill Site Lodge in 100 Mile House. A special thank you to the staff at Mill Site for the compassionate care they provided to Roger.
Roger's CB radio handle was Cariboo Beekeeper. So, over and out for now from Cariboo Beekeeper.
