In Loving Memory ~
In loving memory of Robert "Bob" Ralph Seeton, 80, Nov. 23, 1942 - Sept. 11, 2023, who died at home on Sproat Lake, British Columbia, where he lived for 23 years.
He was born at home in Dartmouth and grew up in Dartmouth where he attended Dartmouth High School. He joined the military upon leaving DHS with a Math award. When his father, Harold passed away suddenly, Bob left the military to be with family.
He married Barb Smith and had three children: Ken Seeton, Jeff Seeton, and Jennifer Cook (Seeton), seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He is survived by four siblings, Mary, Edward, Owen and Tim. Parents Harold and Ruth are deceased.
His love of family was very strong as was seen when he peacefully passed away, surrounded with pure love by 18 family members. He left a long legacy of his craftsmanship abilities to many. He would figure out how to fix almost anything and do it with pride and was usually the first to offer assistance in any situation. That was Bob!
He heard the call "Go west young man and seek your fortune" so he took his skills from Nova Scotia and came to Vancouver Island and perfected his craft. "Hey Bob, brother Tim would ask, do you think we could do this?" His positive reply, with his twinkling blue eyes, was always, "yes".
His many abilities included being a master carpenter. He could build a house which he did many times. He knew how to rebuild a car engine, do auto bodywork and how to spray paint a car. He was also an excellent electrician and plumber.
We've all heard the expression, Jack of all trades, master of none. Bob was a Jack of all trades and a master of them all. Bob left a big trail of love behind him! Even during the last hours of his life, he still maintained his sense of humour.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
The entire Seeton family would like to thank the incredible nurses and staff at the Royal Jubilee Hospital especially "7 South" for their incredible care and love they showed to Bob. As well as all of the Sproat lake and Port Alberni emergency services and medical staff. We greatly appreciate the work you do.
