February 8, 1934 - December 10, 2022
In loving memory ~
Bob was born on February 8th, 1934 in Vernon, B.C. and lived here his entire life. It is with heavy hearts that we announce his passing in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on December 10th, 2022 at the age of 88 years. Although we are sad at this time we are so thankful that Bob left us peacefully when his Lord and Saviour called him Home.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Winnie; one sister, Muriel; one brother, Brian (Genie); four children, Laurie (Lorne), Gail (Bill), Kelly and Bobbi (Laurier); his step-children, Lee and Greg; step-grandchild, Tyler (Bobbi); nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elmer (Judy), Janet and Jack; numerous nieces, nephews; together with Karen and her family to whom Bob opened his heart and welcomed into his family. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna (Buchenauer) Kowalski, one sister, Lilian; one son, Dean; and one brother-in-law, Ronnie.
Bob was a born again Christian. He had many passions in life, especially driving big rigs. Bob devoted many decades to "Trucking everywhere man" for numerous companies until the age of 75. After retirement he became a regular fixture at the A&W, socializing with his friends and reminiscing about the good old days. Bob fondly remembered and often spoke of his childhood friends, Glen and Stan Hansen. Spending quality time with his family was important to Bob.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and food....especially dessert! Bob was a funny character who excelled in great story telling and appreciated hearing and telling jokes, for he loved to laugh. He will be dearly missed and his memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he has left behind.
In respecting Bob's wishes, he was cremated and a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. A special thank you is extended to his son, Kelly for going above and beyond in caring for his Dad, Dr. Dreyer, the home-care workers and neighbours who were always there for him and Kerry at Bethel Funeral Chapel.
Cremation arrangements were made with BETHEL FUNERAL CHAPEL LTD., 5605-27th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 8Z5, 250-542-1187.
