March 2, 1932 - November 22, 2022
On November 22, 2022 our precious Rigmor passed over in a very peaceful moment into the arms of Jesus, with her family by her side.
Rigmor was born in Haar, Denmark on March 2, 1932 to Kristian & Ane Christensen.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Hans and sisters Bette and Mette.
Rigmor is survived by her beloved husband Anton of 66 years and their 7 children. Hanne (Jack), Peter, Frank (Debbie), David, Esther (Michael), Mark (Mary-Ellen), Stephen (Rachel).
She leaves behind 19 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren.
Rigmor graduated from nursing school and specialized in psychiatric care and was later an operating room nurse.
She married Anton in 1955 and within a couple years they had their first-born Hanne. Adventure called them and soon they sailed across the world to Ellis Island where they got on the train and traveled across Canada settling in North Vancouver, BC. They lived there for 11 years and soon their country roots drew them to out to the Chilliwack area and there they had several farms giving their children a space to roam and grow.
Rigmor was a fantastic cook and was best known for her Sunday roasts, gravy, red cabbage & frikadellar. No Christmas was ever complete until all the Danish rice pudding was eaten and the almond found.
Her family was blessed with beautiful knitted sweaters, blankets, socks and slippers.
A celebration of her life took place on December 2, 2022 at Woodlawn Funeral home followed by a reception at City Life.
We are ever grateful for the kindness and care from Dr. Bartel, Dr. Dueck and all the staff at Cascade Lodge and especially Elsa who was there with us at the end.
Even in the final stages of her illness her character and strength shone through as did her humour and laughter. We will miss the twinkle in her eyes, rest in peace until we meet again!
