In loving memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Angus Ross at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital with his family by his side.
He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Catherine Ross. He is survived by his wife Donna, sons; Howard (Sue), Jay (Carolyn) and John (Lori), grandchildren; Brenda, Alex, Serena, Jasmine, Mikayla, Kyle (Sarah), Nicola, Kyle & Cole Cara, great-grandchildren; Angus, Alice, Emilie, Castel and Kinslie, his sisters; Sharon (Bill) Cartwright, Birnie (John) Baron and Carol (Pete) Peebles, brother-in-law Sam Fyles as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Richie was born and raised in Trail. He attended school in Trail and began his apprenticeship with Cominco as an electrician in 1958. He worked at numerous Cominco properties before retiring from Utilicorp (West Kootenay Power) in 1995.
Richie enjoyed many happy years throughout his life on Kootenay Lake. After retirement, Donna and he enjoyed their place in Yuma as well. The Gyro Club benefited from his service, and he and Donna made many new friends over his years spent actively involved with the club.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wilson & Aiken, his hospitalists Dr. Fisher & White, the ICU and 3rd Floor staff, and the First Responders of Trail for their care and service.
The family will be holding a private gathering at a later date. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in remembrance of Richie may be made to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Health Foundation at 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC V1R 4M1 or online at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family's online register at www.myalternatives.ca
