Raymond Turney passed away peacefully on Jan 27, 2024. Ray was born in Burnley, England on April 14, 1927. He attended school in Cornwall, Ontario, and started his career as an apprentice machinist in the Pulp and Paper Industry.

He loved his job and worked for 42 years, eventually becoming the Mechanical Superintendent at the BCFP mill in Crofton.

Ray was a big fan of sports, especially hockey. He played, coached, and watched the sport with unwavering interest. Ray retired in 1987 and spent years with Mille (predeceased) at their cottage in Youbou while travelling extensively around the world.

Ray is survived by his two daughters, Gail and Lynn, and his son Murray and their spouses Rabinder Rai, Kim Allan and Lynda Turney. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive him.
