In loving memory ~

Ray came from Westville NS and lead a very full life. He was friendly to everyone and over the years always made folks laugh by sharing a joke.

He was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces who proudly served with NATO in Continental Europe, trained for the Special Forces and was posted throughout Canada. After leaving military life he enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in the construction industry that took him from coast to coast right across Canada. In 1969 he brought his wife and family out to BC, found his forever province, and settled in.

Ray had a lifelong passion for music. He was a member of the original band Dan and Friends which then became Zane and Friends. He always enjoyed spending time with his dear friends Zane, Al and Gloria who brought their jam sessions to the house when Ray could no longer get out to join them. He was also a member of the BC Old Time Fiddlers, Branch 17. He enjoyed playing his drum, spoons and singing at their various events.

Ray loved nothing better then spending time in the great outdoors especially fishing, hunting and feeding the birds whenever he could.

Ray was predeceased by his parents Robert and Mary Craig, as well as 2 of his sisters Dorothy and Jean. Left to mourn him are his 2 sisters Kaye and Geraldine, his beloved wife Marjorie whom he was married to for 64 years, son Bob (Di), daughter Karen Little (Bill), 2 Grandchildren Billy and Sabrina, his Great granddaughter Trinity, and her Mother Salma, along with many other family members.

A special thanks to Dr. Jon Walker and the staff at the Campbell River hospital for all their amazing care and attention. To all the friends and neighbours who kept showing up to bring news and cheer and to all those wonderful home care aids that came through rain and snow to take care of him and brighten his day.

A tea and remembrance will be held on Saturday 2 March 2024 from 1-3pm at the Campbell River Labour Centre (Union Hall) located at 830 14th avenue Campbell River.

No floral tributes by request.
