In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts we share the news of Randy's death on September 1st, 2023, at the age of 55 after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer.
Randy was born to parents Ron and Jan Work in Prince George on September 10th, 1967. At a young age, he moved to the Campbell River area with his mom and brother Wes.
Randy ventured to Banff for work in 1987 and it was there that he met Wendy, his partner of 36 years. They ended up back in Campbell River where he worked for Safeway for five years. Randy completed his automotive mechanic apprenticeship with OK Tire in Willow Point where he worked for many years and enjoyed the great camaraderie. The last ten years of his career were spent working at Steve Marshall Ford until he could no longer work because of back pain.
Randy lived up to his last name "Work" honestly - he was always tinkering with something and happiest when he had something to fix. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a happy camper. He had a huge love of animals and no doubt there will be many wagging tails on the other side waiting for him. Randy had a wicked sense of humour, a creative mind, and a bundle of energy. Life with Randy was never dull!
Randy is predeceased by his father Ron, Uncles Merv, Lavern & Neil, and Aunties Rita & Denise.
He is survived by his partner Wendy Assmus, mother Jan Work, brother Wes Work, Uncles Allen, Dennis (Faye) Lionel (Karen), David (Debbie), Auntie Gayle and many cousins.
He is already greatly missed by Gracie, our dog who was his constant companion.
Randy's family will be hosting a casual drop-in at his home on Saturday, September 9th, from 1:00 - 4:00pm at 1945 Tree Lane Road.
