Phyllis Loraine (Laurie) (nee: Colquhoun), a resident of Victoria, B.C. for 43 years and the last four years of Vernon, died on April 21, 2007 at the age of 91 years. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harold, daughter Penny (Lowell) Laidlaw of Vernon, B.C., son Martin (Sue) Grigg of Coquitlam, B.C., five grandchildren, Christy Todd (Manfred Loos) of Peachland, B.C., Cam (Rhonda) Todd of Dawson Creek, B.C., Theresa Grigg of Vancouver, B.C., Trevor Grigg of New Westminster, B.C., Lorin (Cassie) Laidlaw of Kelowna, B.C., four great grandchildren, Emma Todd and Keanu Herzog of Peachland, B.C., and Reiss and Rory Todd of Dawson Creek, B.C., sister-in-law Shirley Colquhoun of Deloraine, Manitoba and numerous nephews and nieces.
Laurie was born in Deloraine, Manitoba on January 6, 1916. After graduating from school she attended secretarial school and worked for her father as a legal secretary. During the war years she met Harold and they were married in 1941. She was predeceased by her parents, Mart and Myrtle Colquhoun and younger brother Mac Colquhoun. In Victoria, Laurie was one of the founding members of the Victoria General Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of the Royal Colwood Golf and Country Club. She is sadly missed by her family.
