Pete Kenyon passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He leaves behind the love of his life, Wife Doris, along with Daughters Norma Goodale (Mark), Kerry Hydes (Steven), and Son Robin Kenyon (Heather), 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Peter was born in Victoria, the family being from James Bay. He spent his first years in Paldi. At the beginning of the war, the family moved to Gibbins Road, where they would stay. Dad attended Duncan Grammar School and was a good student and athlete. He graduated from Cowichan High and went on to Victoria College as an Engineering Student.
Summers were spent as a Surveyor in Howe Sound and Northern BC working for the Provincial Government. Later, as a Field Engineer, he was one of the first on-site to lay out the new pulp mill at Crofton.
This led to a career as a Pipe Fitter and then, for many years, a Mechanical Foreman, retiring from Crofton Mill after 40 years.
Dad and Mom enjoyed a busy retirement with many trips to Europe, the States and even China and New Zealand. Dad was a good golfer and spent many years at Cowichan, enjoying a few laughs with his regular Foursome. He was always involved with his community, as a Scout Leader or Soccer Coach and Ref he was well-known in the Cowichan Valley and always well-regarded. He was a lifelong Scouter and met many of his best friends on a memorable trip to the World Jamboree in 1949.
Dad loved to tell stories of the old days at Paldi and James Bay and steam trains and travel. He was very proud of his family and loved to attend basketball, soccer, field hockey and lacrosse games, always a vocal participant. He was a warm, charming, enjoyable man who made friends wherever he went and will be missed by all who knew him.
