It is with great sadness and sorrow to announce the death of Pauline Sophie Chiba (nee Marchand), born October 2nd, 1941, passed November 7th, 2022 in Vernon Jubilee Hospital with her loving family by her side. Pauline fought and faced her battle with cancer like a goddess. Predeceased by her parents Agnes & Joseph Marchand, brother, Leonard Marchand, sisters, Josephine, Theresa Marchand, Millie Steel, baby sister Martina, and first husband Teruo Chiba. Pauline leaves behind; her loving husband of 47 years Ian McLeod, son, Rick Chiba, two grandsons, Bradley and Devon Chiba, daughter, Valerie Chiba, grandson Pierre Richard. Her sisters, Margaret and Alice Marchand, Joan Hannah, and brother Raymond Marchand. Many nephews and nieces, and dear friends.
Pauline was born and raised in Vernon B.C., she was a Jackie of all trades, master of most. Pauline was a hairdresser by trade, but she was so much more: a great mother, great wife, great grandmother, great cook, could problem solve anything.
Pauline has left big shoes to fill, we will do our best with all the teachings and lessons you taught us.
The family would like to express their gratitude to family and friends that came out and supported us, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically during our loss. Your thoughtfulness / kindness / support means more than words can possibly express.
Pauline's service was held November 19th, 2022 at St. Benedict's Church, she will be buried in the spring time when the weather is better.
