Polly was born north of Manyberries, Alberta on December 15th, 1930, the youngest daughter of George and Katrin (Kiry) Eberwein.
Polly passed away suddenly at her residence in Heron Grove on November 7th, 2022 at the age of 91 years.
Polly will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Gordon (Patricia), Douglas and Lois (William) Roper; nine grandchildren, Rob, Andrea, Scott, Jenna, Leanne, Tamara, Nyssa, Jonathan and Daniel together with their spouses and partners; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families.
Polly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gus; her parents; three sisters, Sophie Wagner (Schmidt), Margaret Schmidt and Kay Meger; an infant brother, Jacob; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many other dear family members and friends.
Polly is now safe in the arms of Jesus and reunited with those above.
Polly was a resident of Vernon since the spring of 1939 but also resided in Lavington, B.C., Herbert, Saskatchewan, Oyama, B.C. and enjoyed wintering in Yuma, Arizona in later years. Polly was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church for over 80 years.
Interment in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery preceded a Memorial Service which was held at Peace Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 15th, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Pastor David Hunter officiating.
The family extends a very special thank you to all of Polly's kind friends and staff at Heron Grove who welcomed and loved our very independent Mom.
