In Loving Memory ~
Patricia passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 13, 2023, at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, BC.
Patricia was born in Creston, BC and raised on a farm in Erickson. She married and moved to Cranbrook, BC, where she helped raise four children.
Patricia worked at various jobs over the years in administration, retail sales, and bookkeeping, but her heart was in the hospitality industry. She worked for many years as the live-in manager at the Radium Hot Springs Lodge. A job that she loved for the people she met, and relationships created and nurtured.
The location in the mountains brought her peace. In her later years, she moved back to retire in Creston.
Patricia was a very social person. She loved people and wanted to be involved, often stepping up when an organization needed help. Some of the organizations she was involved with over the years included the Cranbrook Minor Hockey Association, Figure Skating Club, and Kennel Club, as well as various local Chamber of Commerce groups and Hotel Associations.
In recent years, she was involved with the Legion and Order of the Eastern Star. She also liked to organize and was a part of the Prince Charles Senior Secondary Homecoming Committee and numerous Hook family reunions.
Patricia was predeceased by her father John Henry Zackodnik, mother Mary Zackodnik (née Hook), and brother Samuel Zackodnik.
She is survived by her brother Allan (Chris) Zackodnik of Fort St. John, BC.
Patricia also leaves behind her four children Clint (Jennifer) of Kelowna, BC, Cal (Dee) of Cranbrook, BC, Chad (Kim) of Calgary, AB, and Caryn (Matt) Nelson of Calgary, AB; her grandchildren Alyssa, Cassie, Keian, Dani, and Aldous; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Special thanks to nieces Kathleen Weare and Jennifer Harwood, who live in the Creston area and helped her greatly over the past few years.
Patricia's ashes will be interred with her parents and brother at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Creston, BC.
