Norman died on August 23, 2004 at the National Iranian Oil Company Hospital in Tehran, Iran at the age of 43 of complications from malaria. Norm was born in Vernon, B.C. on November 30, 1960. With his parents he lived in Vernon, Nelson, Prince George, Fort Nelson and Fort St. John, B.C. He graduated from North Peace Secondary in Fort St. John and later attended Okanagan College in Kelowna.

Norm was a contract seismic surveyor and worked in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and the N.W.T. and worldwide in the U.S., Mexico, South America, Africa and lastly in Iran.

Norm is survived by his daughter, Dominique, of Roberts Creek, B.C., his parents, Phyllis and Norm Schulz of Vernon, B.C. and brother Mike, of Williams Lake, B.C. as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Gus and Karoline Schulz and Frank and Angela Miller. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at St. James Catholic Church. A funeral service conducted by Father Domingo Cedo will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Vernon at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004 with interment at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Vernon.
