In Loving Memory ~
Our beloved Norman Lenardon passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on August 22, 2023, while surrounded by his family.
Norman was born to Giulio and Amabile Lenardon in Trail, BC on October 20, 1933. He was the youngest of three siblings with his sister Evie being the eldest of the family and his brother Sisto being in the middle. From all accounts, Norman was a spirited child, who grew into a determined young man completing his bricklayer apprenticeship at Cominco.
Norman was a member of the 1961 Trail Smoke Eaters team that won the gold medal in the world championship that year. Normie was a quick skater with an impressive wrist shot playing with an incredible group of men who collectively made the Trail Smoke Eaters world famous.
Normie stole the heart of his loving wife, Genie and they raised four children: Theresa, Timmy, Elizabeth, and Maria. Norman and Gene worked side by side with their children at Norman's restaurant a true family-run restaurant.
Norman is predeceased by his parents, his wife Gene, his daughter Elizabeth, his sister Evie, brother-in-law Joe Tonelli, brother Sisto, nephew Raymond and Niece Diane.
Our Dad and Nono is already greatly missed by his children Theresa (Kirk), Tim (Angie), Maria and grandchildren Ashley, Andrea, Brady, Esme, and Elizabeth. His great-granddaughter, Baby Kaylee, was able to meet him and will one day hear the many stories of her Bisnonno. He is loved by many extended relatives including his nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Norman was always excited about what life had to offer. He made others smile with his cheeky wit and that twinkle in his eyes. With these wonderful memories in mind, we welcome you to help us celebrate Norman's inspirational life and legacy on September 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the gymnasium at Trail Memorial Centre.
Many, many thanks to all of you who have supported us, and shared your condolences and love while we grieve this great loss. We could not weather this without you all.
