Murray Bradford Driver passed away in the Kelowna General Hospital at the age of 69, on Friday April 19th with his daughters Eryn, Amanda and Kathleen by his bedside after suffering complications during heart surgery. Murray was born on April 1, 1955 in Nelson BC as the second son to Roy and Freda Driver.
Murray's first loves were his daughters Kathleen, Amanda and Eryn and his second love was definitely Racing & Nascar. Later in life Murray also opened his big heart and home to his second wife's children Joelene and Sandra Doyle becoming a father to 5 girls...even after all of that Murray was still able to keep his hair!!
If Murray wasn't watching a race on Sunday afternoon with friends or lending a helping hand to a stranger in need, he would be tinkering away on something in his shop or helping a friend repair some mechanical contraption. Murray was truly a man you could count on, one who would be there at the drop of a hat and "getter done".
Murray is survived by his daughters Kathleen Driver (Sons - Kyle & Taylor Pigeon), Amanda Lilly (Cameron - Daughters Winter & Kimberly, Sons Eric and Owen), Eryn Driver (Sons Burton & Ty Geddes). His big brother Clayton Driver (Arla) and their children Shaun Driver (Natalie - Sons Spencer and Walter) and Courtney Driver (Son Arlo).
Murray also is survived by his step children Joelene Doyle (Sons Bradford, Dayton, Gregory & Anthony), Sandra Driver (Son James) and many dear cousins all of whom held a very special place in his heart.
Murray also leaves behind his best buddy for life and brother from another mother Mr. Wayne "Shuster" Johnston, his wife Heather, his #77 race family along with so many close friends and the community he loved.
Murray was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Freda Driver, his sister Barb Golightly and the mother of his daughters Robin Driver, along with numerous close friends, all to which were waiting for him at the Door to Heaven with open arms.
A celebration of life for Murray will be held at the Gibraltar Room, at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex, 525 Proctor Street, Williams Lake BC at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2024. A private family service will be held for interment at a later date.
