We are sad to announce the passing of our dear Muriel Josephine Wellar on January 5th, 2023 at Dufferin Place in Nanaimo, B.C.
Muriel was a faithful wife to her husband Dale Wellar for just short of 50 years.
Muriel is survived by her children Lynn Hutchings (Mark), Michael Dutchak (Myrna), Alan Keith, and Karen Morrison (Kerry); 8 wonderful grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren whom she was such a wonderful grandma and spiritual strength to all!! Brother Brian Dresser (Arlene), sister-in-law Mel Hernblad, Lorna Fraser, and Elaine Strauss; Many loved nephews and nieces who she faithfully held up in prayer.
Muriel was a wonderful woman who displayed stellar Christian character. She was a member of the Apostolic Church of Pentecost (Nanaimo Full Gospel Assembly) and recently the Nanaimo Nazarene Church. She faithfully attended for more than 50 years. She served in many capacities such as Sunday School teacher and along with her husband leading a Seniors Group.
Muriel enjoyed camping and swimming and was an Island Girl through and through. Born in Victoria on September 4th, 1932, moving to Nanaimo with Dale in 1971.
We are so grateful for the love from the Dufferin Place staff over the last 3.5 years. They were totally awesome as they served us during these hardest times of our life's journey together.
There will be a celebration of Muriel's life at a later date.
