August 2, 1931 – April 15, 2022
Maurice passed away peacefully at 90 years of age. Predeceased by his wife Myrna and daughter Janice.
Survived by his children, Sandra O’Connor, Robin Klassen, Leslie Guilbault and Andrew Guilbault, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Born in Montreal, Quebec he moved with his family to Maillardville, B.C. and graduated from high school in Penticton.
He met and married Myrna Ledoux in 1961 and they settled in Vancouver later moving to Quesnel and Kyuquot and then returning back to Vancouver. He was a firm believer in fostering and adoption.
Maurice worked for the BC Govt in Industrial Relations and was passionate about Human Rights.
In retirement they moved to Chilliwack where they met many new friends. He loved to travel and they took a trip across Canada in their motorhome and down into the U.S. which took almost a year. He also loved to spend winters in Palm Springs where he had many friends.
After Myrna passed away in 2008, Maurice spent his days playing cards and walking Coco. Our cute little frenchman loved to sing, had a great sense of humour and loved to flirt with the ladies.
A special thank you to Dr. Cameron Ross who looked after Maurice with much care and compassion for over 27 years.
He will be missed immensely by his family and many friends.
An Open House to remember him will be held Sunday May 15th at 7685 Amber Drive from 1pm to 4 pm.
