In loving memory ~
Our beloved mom, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away in the early morning hours of August 13, 2023, at the age of 90 into the arms of her saviour.
Millie was born in the rural area of Saint Damien, outside of Moncton New Brunswick, to Emelien and Alice LeBlanc. She was the youngest of 11 children.
She grew up on the family farm until she moved to Moncton at a young age to work, then to Toronto where she met her future husband, Alyre. They married in 1951 and had 3 sons, then moved to Campbell River in 1970.
Millie will be remembered by her sons, Roger (Kelly) and Paul (Karen), daughter-in-law Janet, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, her good friends Jackie & Pauline and all her relatives back east.
She is predeceased by her husband Alyre 2001, her son Rheal 2018, granddaughter Elise 1995, grandson Joshua 1996, and all her siblings.
Millie worked hard all her life, she was employed with the CR Hospital for 20+ years and retired in 1990. After retirement she took up quilting with a passion, making numerous quilts for everyone! Millie enjoyed travelling back east to visit family and LOVED to play cards, many games of rummy were played on our visits.
She loved her family dearly and had a strong Catholic faith; the family is very thankful for the parishioners who came to see her weekly. Millie was a very independent, caring person who was loving, kind and a great listener, she showed a genuine interest in getting to know the loving staff that cared for her over the years; so many people touched her heart. The care and friendship she received was very much appreciated. She loved to exercise, do puzzles, watch Mash and desserts were at the top of her list.
She moved into Discovery Harbour Seniors Community in August of 2022. The family is so thankful for the wonderful care she received and the love that was shown every day, up until her last breath.
There will be a small church service with family.
