IN THE CARE OF Chapel of Memories Funeral Directors Mary Armich (nee Markusich) passed away in her 90th year on December 16th at Fir Park Village.
Predeceased by her husband Frank, twin sister Annie, brothers Joe and Mike, father John, mother Mary, and stepmother Magda.
Mary is survived by sons Tom (Theresa), Joe (Lynne), Frank (Heather), Ken, and daughter Pat (Vince) and sisters Nada and Helen. She leaves eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mary was born in Nanaimo, B.C., and lived there, in Cumberland and in Port Alberni. She spent her last two years at Fir Park, joined by close twin sister Annie in June of 2021. They were known by staff as "The Twins". We thank the staff and doctors Duplessis and Smit for their care.
Mary led a very busy life, helping with all aspects of her husband Frank's businesses with burls and grapes, all while raising five children. She was a tireless worker while always being welcoming to guests and strangers as well. Mary was a dedicated wife and mother who met life without complaint. After Annie passed in September, Mary would always ask, "Where's Annie?" We would say, "She's up there with everyone else." Now, you are too.
