Marvin Ashley

March 4, 2023
Marvin Allan Ashley, of Williams Lake BC, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home, on the evening of March 4, 2023, at the age of 74.
Marvin was born on January 27, 1949, to Rita May Ashley and Vernon Russell Ashley in Williams Lake BC. It is there that he met his beloved wife Bonnie in the summer of 1965. The two were married on October 14, 1967, in Williams Lake, BC. Marvin and Bonnie went on to have 4 children together, Anna, Chester, Samuel and Douglas.
Marvin was a heavy-duty mechanic and worked for Timberjack for several years before starting his own company, Timberline Repairs. He retired in the late 1990’s although he still did some work for small contractors. Marvin enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, hunting and fishing. He also raced mini-stock for a few years. The most important thing to him, however, was family.
Marvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and cherished time with his family above everything. He did his best to keep family connections strong and could always be counted on for support when needed.
Marvin was predeceased by his Mother & Father, his brothers Vern, Greg, and Ken, and his sisters Anita, and Karen. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, his children Anna (Kevin), Chester (Caroline), Sam (Ange) and Doug (Heather), his grandchildren, Brandon, Katie, Demish, Devon, Deon, Abigail, Stuart, Lisa, Oliver, and Chloe, his brothers Joe, Russell, Ed, Steve and his sisters Bonnie, Hope and Carmelita, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a generous, kind and loving man with a wonderful sense of humour and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held at St. Andrews United Church on Monday, March 20th at 11 am, located at 1000 Huckvale Place, Williams Lake, BC.
There will be an interment at the gravesite following and a tea will be held at the church afterwards. The service will be streamed here:
