In loving memory ~
My Mom departed very peacefully on the first cloudy, chilly day in months. She always knew when to make a perfect exit.
Marjorie loved to travel. She improved many lives while on her journeys to Africa and India. She raised funds so she could open daycares, introduce educational programs, plant food gardens and provide support in every way. She was always trying to give opportunities to as many people as she could to insure a better future for them.
She was a trail blazer for women's equality and a feminist until her last breath.
Although she struggled the last few months she still made us and the incredible caring staff at the North Island Hospital laugh daily. She had a wicked sense of humour. She was fun and loved to have fun. She enjoyed good food, good drink and loved to dance and sing.
Predeceased by her son Kerry she is survived by her daughter Shelley and her beloved friend Frank. So much gratitude to her loyal friend to the end Jane Plant. Also to so many others who were kind and understanding to her as she struggled with dementia. To all the family and friends who visited, reached out, prayed for her and kept us hopeful and laughing, thank you.
The care we received from the staff at the North Island Hospital was exceptional and I will always be grateful for that. In the end LOVE is all that really matters .
A donation in Marjorie's name to Cumberland Community Forest Society would be greatly appreciated.
