In Loving Memory ~
With heavy hearts we announce that our Mom, Marion passed away at Dufferin Place at age 90. She was born in Grande Prairie Alberta and moved to work in Edmonton where she met her husband Don (predeceased her June 14, 2012).
They moved to family in Nanaimo in 1956. Marion worked as a bookkeeper, realtor, agent, appraiser until retirement. She served her community on the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board as a director and president for over a decade, a director of the Nanaimo Golf Club, Kinettes, K 40, Gyrettes and Probus.
Marion loved sewing, golf, camping and travelling with family and friends all over beautiful Vancouver Island and down to Mesa, Arizona as a Snowbird. Marion loved Toastmasters and went on to teach Speech Craft at Malaspina College.
She is survived by her daughters Sandy (Stephen) and Glenda (Steffen) and her grandchildren Selena (Matt), Brenton (Kaitlyn), Niklos (Sarah), Corey (Brooke), Dana and great-grandchildren Mavrik, Levi, Huxley and Mason.
We would like to thank Dr. De Negri and Dr. Van Valkenburg and all the Arbutus Wing staff for their tender and loving care.
The family is to have a private service at a later date.
