In loving memory ~
"Somewhere along the way, we must learn that there is nothing greater than to do something for others." Martin Luther King Jr.
The Arcovio Family, with great sadness and sorrow, would unfortunately like to announce the passing of our brother and uncle, Mario Arcovio. He was only 61 on the day of his passing, December 22nd, 2022, when he left the mortal plane. Mario was in the presence of family during his last moments, his older brothers Leonard and John.
Mario enjoyed the finer things in life such as old cars, hockey, gardening as well as helping his family, friends, and the community he cared about. He was a respected and active member of the Nelson Road Kings and Nelson Italian Canadian Society. Mario was born and raised in Nelson, B.C. and was a strong, respected pillar in the city. He was born on December 18, 1961, to Italian immigrants, Serafino and Raffaela Arcovio. He grew up in the town he loved, Nelson, and started his career path at Ymir Forest Products. He later partnered with his brother Giuseppe in 1987, to run one of oldest successful electrical contracting companies in town. The amount of people's lives he touched was staggering and he will be deeply missed by all that cared about his goodwill. Mario was intelligent, wise, caring, knowledgeable, an amazing teacher, sage, and passionate. He will be remembered for how he would always give his time, skill set and support without question to those he loved and cared for.
Mario was predeceased by his parents Serafino and Raffaela, brother James, nephew Jon-Shelby, niece Cerise Dio-enne Trupp and their father Don Trupp.
Mario will be deeply missed by his brothers and sister, Leonard (Laura Cillis), John (Janet Stewart), Teri Trupp and Giuseppe and his nephews and niece Dan, Stefano (Allison and their child Leo), Carlo, and Selena (Chris Tanzi).
