In loving memory ~
Marilyn is predeceased by her parents William & Myrtle Hunt, brother-in-law Allan Lloyd, husband Werner Dolling, and her grandson Griffin Dolling.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Ralph) and son Greg (Leona); grandchildren Kyle (Tamiko), Justin (Jordan), Sydney (Johnathan); sister Linda Lloyd; and nieces Tammy, Theresa, and Debra.
After completing her education at BCIT, Marilyn embarked on a career in office administration, leaving her mark at the pulp mill, BC Assessment Authority, and the BC Forest Service. Yearly camping trips at Tall Timbers Resort created treasured memories, and later, her move to Sproat Lake allowed her to entertain loved ones regularly. Marilyn had a passion for needlepoint and crochet projects, and she found delight in her collection of clown figurines. Seven months ago, Marilyn settled into her new home at Heritage Place, really embracing new friendships and opportunities to engage in friendly card games, bingo matches and bean bag toss.
We would like to express heartfelt thanks to the medical team that cared for our mother throughout her journey. We are grateful to Dr. Daryl Lund for his unwavering dedication to her health over the years. We could not have done this without him. A special appreciation goes to Dr. Anienne Marsay and nurse Jackie for stepping in with compassion. Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Woodley, Dr. Williams and the nurses who provided excellent care to our mom during her time in the hospital. To the Home Support team, who helped Mom keep her independence while at her home and at Heritage Place - your dedication made a very meaningful impact.
Lastly, we want to express profound appreciation to Heritage Place, particularly to Alice and the entire team, for their exceptional care and unwavering support. Their compassionate understanding and hard work not only benefitted our mother but also touches the lives of all residents at their facility. We are so glad that they were a part of our family.
By Marilyn's request, no formal service will be held and the family will gather together at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Heritage Place at 4200 10th Avenue in Port Alberni, B.C.
