Marie Therese "Theresa" Yolonde Vallee-Sevigny passed away peacefully on September 14th, 2022 surrounded by family at Westhaven in Port Alberni at age 95.
Theresa was born on October 19th, 1926 in Valleyfield, Quebec as the second oldest of six children to Rene and Maria Gauthier. Theresa is predeceased by her first husband Ben Vallee, second husband Henri Sevigny, eldest son Andy Vallee and great-grandson Griffin Dolling. Left to mourn are sons Jack Vallee, Roger Vallee (Darlene), daughter Linda Hunter; grandchildren Leona Dolling (Greg), Brian Vallee, Matthew Vallee, RJ Vallee, Amber and Kaitlyn Hunter; great-grandchildren Sydney Dolling, Seth and Ty Vallee.
Theresa met Ben in Montreal and they married in 1944 in Valleyfield, Quebec. After various moves and the birth of three sons, the family of five settled in Port Alberni where their daughter was born. Theresa excelled as a homemaker by providing her family with fresh vegetables from her garden, various baked goods and an abundance of knitted necessities. She found joy in preparing large weekly dinners for her grandchildren and assembling extensive holiday meals. Theresa eventually went on to marry Henri Sevigny in the year 2000.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Westhaven, as that's where Theresa enjoyed the final years of her life. Huge thank-you to the wonderful care provided by the staff at Westhaven, especially to nurses Jen and Cynthia.
A service will be held on September 24th at 11:00am at the Holy Family Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church at 4731 Burke Ave. Please join us after the service for light refreshments in the church basement.
