July 13, 1939 – February 18, 2022
Margaret passed away peacefully on Feb. 18, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Comox, BC and moved to Vancouver at a young age.
Then, in 1948, they moved to Greenwood, BC, where her mom operated a telephone office. The family then moved to Grand Forks where Margaret became the youngest telephone operator, at age 13, in her mom’s new office.
She graduated from high school in Grand Forks, then moved back to Vancouver to live with her grandmother and work for BC Tel. She met her future husband, Earl Mueksch, who was schooling for carpentry. They married on August 27, 1960.
After moving to Penticton, BC, and raising 4 beautiful children, they enjoyed 61 and a half loving years together. Margaret had a happy life, valuing her close family and life-long friendships. She loved crossword puzzles and game nights with friends and family.
She was a wonderful Mum, Grandma and GG Ma…we all miss her very much.
Predeceased by her mom, Isabel Madden (nee Richmond), 1979; step-dad, Leo Madden, 1977; son, Paul, 1989; and sister, Ann Pasco, 1999.
Survived by her loving husband, Earl; children: Donna, Dan (Lisa), and Carol Ann (Marshall); grandchildren: Jenna (Tye), Tyler (Leah), Ashley (Matt), and Justin; great grandchild: Odin; and brother, Ron Cottom (Leona – deceased). Margaret had many friends at Sears, Woodwards and The Bay, where she worked, in Penticton.
Special thanks to Dr. Masson and the nurses at Moog & Friends Hospice House, in Penticton, for the loving care they gave to Margaret, in her time of need. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory can be made to Moog & Friends Hospice House.
